According to Polarity Therapy, health is based on a free flow of energy that underlies our physical body, mind and spirit. When we experience injury, disease or emotional inbalance, then our vital energy also becomes affected.

Polarity Therapy is a complete health care system that can support your healing through hands-on bodywork, energy exercises, nutrition, and work with thoughts/attitude. This powerful combination can address physical symptoms as well as emotional and spiritual health.

Polarity Bodywork

Both gentle and firm touch is applied to your lightly clothed body. This can be very relaxing as your energy flow opens and balances which supports healing at a deep level. Supportive techniques may be used to allow for release through movement, sound or visualisation. The practitioner ‘diagnoses’ energy imbalances through the Ayurvedic Five Element System: Ether, Air, Fire, Water and Earth. Each of these ‘elements’ points to specific body work techniques, exercises and foods that would support you.

Energy Exercises

Polarity Therapy incorporates a range of effective exercises that are easy to learn and will only take a little time each day. They include gentle stretching and rocking, as well as more vigorous components to stimulate organ function or to calm the mind. Energy exercises are a good way of maintaining benefits after sessions and allow you to independently work on your well-being.

Nutrition

Your practitioner might suggest a variety of cleansing or health-building foods to enable your organs to function better. Small steps can be taken over a period of time to develop a way of eating that is right for you. No ‘dieting’ required!

Thought and Attitude

Depending on their training, Polarity Practitioners draw from a variety of awareness approaches to help you maximise your potential and help you reach your goals. These include counselling, trauma release work, visualisation, goal setting, focussing and meditation. This, in turn, increases the effectiveness of the body work you receive.

Polarity Therapy was developed by Dr Randolph Stone (1890-1981). He was a chiropractor, osteopath, and naturopath who spent 60 yeas of his life studying both Eastern and Western health care approaches. His work was greatly influenced by his wife Dr Anna L Stone, a chiropractor and nurse, and Dr Louise L Morris, a spiritual teacher and feminist writer.
