My Approach
I like to create a warm and comfortable atmosphere. I sometimes combine some acupressure or gentle shiatsu massage with treatment. It is important that you feel comfortable so I allow more time for the first session so that you do not feel rushed and we have time to chat about the treatment, to put you at ease.
How Acupuncture can help you
Acupuncture promotes the even flow of qi - our vital energy, relieving stress, tension and pain, creating a deep sense of relaxation. The body's own self-healing is activated in this deeply relaxed state.
Acupuncture assists in treating not only immediate symptoms, but also underlying constitutional imbalances by improving overall health and immune system. Many people say they feel greater energy and focus following a course of Acupuncture.
Acupuncture is as effective in treating either acute or chronic conditions and avoids side effects. Early treatment of minor symptoms can help prevent more serious health problems worsening or even developing.
Traditional Chinese Medicine - TCM, offers a new approach to gynaecological conditions, infertility and child health. Treatments offered include acupuncture, acupressure, shiatsu, moxibustion, facial rejuvenation acupuncture, auricular acupuncture, electro-acupuncture and cupping.
The World Health Organisation has recognised Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) as being effective in treating a wide range of conditions from high blood pressure to insomnia to infertility.
How Cupping can help you
Many people prefer to receive cupping from my Camden, London clinic as a complement to acupuncture or as a separate treatment. The Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) practice of Cupping has many therapeutic uses – it can help to expel colds and sore throats, relieve neck, shoulder and back tension and remove toxins. It brings pain relief and can feel like a deep tissue massage. Again, for the range of symptoms treated at Natural therapy clininic in London
About Rachel
My experience working as a bodywork therapist has increased my sensitivity as an acupuncturist working with people at a physical and emotional level. I have always been fascinated by the relationship between mind, emotions and the body. This interest led me to study ITEC diplomas in a Aromatherapy & Holistic Massage. I then undertook a three year professional training in Shiatsu and Oriental medicine and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) at The Shiatsu College, London. In order to improve my diagnostic and treatment skills I subsequently completed a BSc (hons) degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine - Acupuncture, which embraces both western and Chinese medicine. Modules included western anatomy, physiology, pathology and pathophysiology.
Besides developing my own acupuncture, massage, shiatsu & cupping private practice, I have over ten years experience treating people in private companies, community day centres, residential homes and at health centres. I have enjoyed teaching and passing on my skills to others. I am keen to help people understand about their individual condition and disharmony to help them to help themselves feel better.
Special interests include working with children, gynaecology and fertility issues. I am trained in Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture (Cosmetic Acupuncture) and offer this service in Camden in central London.
I am registered with the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC), the national organisation that represents all professionally qualified Acupuncturists. BAcC requires all its members gain the correct training with an accredited institution. I completed a full time, three year BSc course in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) at Westminster University. BAcC ensures all its members follow a strict code of practice as regards hygiene and ethics, to ensure health and safety for the general public.
