I am a qualified Person Centred Counsellor and Supervisor. The Person Centred Approach is based on the belief that we each have within us the potential to discover our own ways of moving forward to a more fulfilling and healthy way of living.
It places great emphasis on creating an environment where the client feels free to explore their feelings in a safe and confidential atmosphere without judgement or intrusion on the counsellor's part.
The approach deeply acknowledges that the client is the expert in knowing how they feel and in finding their own way forward, the counsellor being a companion on this journey.
This method does not normally offer advice, nor does it use any techniques, other than that of offerieng the client respect, genuinness and understanding in oder to create a trusting relationship.
