I graduated from the British School of Shiatsu-Do in 1997 and have had 9 years of experience with private clients and in the business sector.
Shiatsu, like many holistic therapies, seeks to treat the whole person because it is believed that illness or 'dis-ease' does not exist in isolation but as part of the imbalance of the whole person. The first treatment, therefore, will include a full consultation with medical and personal histories and can take up to 2 hours. Follow-up treatments take 1 to 1 1/2 hours. All treatments take place, fully clothed, in a warm private pratice room.
Shiatsu can help with a number of ailments including back problems, digestive disorders, hormonal imbalances especially pmt and is a fantastic support when pregnant (after the 1st trimester only) but also can redress a general feeling of 'malaise' when you are not feeling well but not sure why!
