Further Information
The Alexander Technique is a means of bringing ourselves back to a natural state of balance and poise. Life presents us with many tensions, stresses and anxieties. This result in the development of bad habits which interfere with our natural co-ordination and functioning.
The Alexander Technique can help with chronic pain in the back, neck and joints, postural problems, headaches, respiratiry and digestive problems and recovery from injury or surgery. It can also improve balance and co-ordination, the performance of artists such as musicians, actors and writers. People involved in sports e.g. runners atheletes, swimmers etc. use the Alexander Technique not only to improve their performance but also to prevent repetitive injury. Famours people such as Paul McCartney, John Cleese, Sheila Hancock, Linford Christie and Bernard Shaw have benefited from the Technique.
The Alexander Technique is usually taught on a one-to-one basis during which the teacher uses gentle hands-on work. The Technique can also be taught in small classes for people who would like a short insight into what the Technique entails. This can then be followed up with individual lessons. For more information please contact me by phone or email.
