Yogic Touch
Stiff? Aching? Tense? Tired?
Are you sensitive, tense or have aching muscles & have begun to accept this is how you are …
Is this possibly the result of a past trauma?
Let me explain by starting with how the body usually heals. The natural mechanism is through slowing down: When we get a cold we feel tired, lethargic achy & want to sleep.
With an injury we may instinctively want to reduce activities because it hurts. The body informs us it needs rest. By reducing external activities, energy is utilised internally for the healing process. So resting, giving space & time is the organic way for the body to heal.
Trauma, be it physical or emotional, is experienced in the body as ‘more change than the body can handle’. The cells and muscles tighten to protect the system from further harm. The subconscious alerts us to prevent a similar event. Our system has lost its inherent trust.
For at least 3 to 6 months after a car accident most people feel a lack of confidence and drive instinctively with more care.
Very traumatic is Surgery – a heart attack - bereavement – Abuse, or the diagnosis of a disease like cancer. All are a shock to the system.
Recovery: At the time we just deal with it. We are designed so that the adrenaline helps us through the event. However, some years later the body seems to manifest certain stresses and tension, and we feel achy and stuck in some way, seemingly unrelated to the incident.
You may be experiencing symptoms of residual trauma.
The Energy field holds trauma and can therefore become distorted or fragile, which may be felt as physical or mental ‘tension’ and is draining in the long run.
Post traumatic symptoms
* Sensitivity
* Recurring tension
* Stiff aching muscles
* Headaches
* Tiredness
* Reduced concentration
* Feeling like ‘You are getting old’
can all be a sign of held Trauma.
Sensitivity: After trauma you may experience a greater sensitivity, or alertness to people around you, feel restless, have disturbed sleep or even insomnia. This is because the Nervous System is on alert & the adrenaline raised output persists.
Our system still holds this trauma in the cell structure.
Over time we may experience seemingly unrelated symptoms, as the body is coping with and accommodating what is still sitting in the cell structure.
Signs of residual Trauma: You may feel more sensitive to noise, people, surroundings and your energy levels may not be the same. You may be feeling more nervous restless more anxious, panicky or unable to switch off. You may even have become suspicious or fearful.
How do we restore TRUST?
The body wants to rest until it is healed - This could be a long long time. …
Getting the rest the body needs: When healing is facilitated through stilling the body – the ‘Body Intelligence’ finds it’s own rhythm. Not only is this empowering but also deeply reassuring. It restores trust in the system.
Yogic Touch Therapy gives that space time & trust, helps to calm, to release stress, restores confidence and most importantly restores the TRUST the Nervous System needs to normalise.
Where it comes from: Yogic Touch was developed by Brigitte Hass to specifically heal trauma & stress conditions.
For some years extremely sensitive herself, she became acutely energy aware. When working she noticed that at times the ‘system’ would close down, or block, rather than release. She kept studying and fine-tuning.
Restoring trust in the Nervous System normalises adrenaline & cortisol output, the cells release the trauma.
A session: Techniques akin to Massage, Body-Alignment, deep tissue work, Reiki, Energy Healing can be part of a session.
People report a deep rest, like they have had a really restful sleep or holiday, feel something has lifted, and are refreshed and more at ease.
Client comments!

‘Wow! This treatment is amazing. I’ve never laughed my way thru’ a session before & felt so rested & restored after it. Thank you.’
‘I am sort of ‘more me’, and did not have the usual ‘physical reaction’ to my ex! What a huge relief!’
Brigitte says: ‘I found that clients with trauma & stress or sensitive in some way, kept coming for treatment. Out of a need to support a natural organic healing process, Yogic Touch developed over 20 years. When connecting verbally and stilling, being with the whole person trust develops. The ‘Body Intelli-gence’ remembers how to heal.’ One or 2 sessions are often sufficient.
She has been studying and working with body-work & energy awareness for 20 years, and has developed Yogic Touch Therapy. She has extraordinary success with healing trauma and stress conditions.
Brigitte is available at Trauma & Stress Clinics in London: Victoria SW1, Clapham SW4 & Balham SW17, & facilitates Essential Awareness workshops & trainings in the UK & South Africa.
